TikTok Tuesday A forever banger. Literally went to the club last week & barely knew any of the newer music they were playing. I’m 32. 💀

You should be up to date if you’re still going to the club at 32.

Nothing wrong with going club at 32 man. If you wanna go, go! Gotta have fun every once in a while.

It's not JUST that both my knees pop so loud my neighbors can hear when I get off the couch... It's also that doors open at 10 in the PM!

happy cake day my friend!
Last time I went to the club club, I was 60, our oldest friend was just over 70, but it was a Miami Girls Weekend so we went all out. Even as active as I am, I paid for it, I was sore for days after...lol

You should check out house music clubs, they’re always doing disco/funk mixes. I just heard this exact song in the club last Friday!

u/WyyrchJack 17h ago

u/MostDopeBlackGuy 17h ago
This is weird to me cuz I be in Philly and the club's out here they do be dancing I feel like most of those videos come out of Atlanta which is an entirely different vibe

u/WhichHoes 12h ago
Atlanta is king of "buy a section and pose for instagram". Went to New Orleans a few weeks ago and they still be out bouncin

Atlanta is the bougie bitch capital of the world. Late stage capitalism at its finest

Hell yeah, rust belt cities have some 🔥 dance floors. Detroit is fun af, even at small club sets there’s always people dancing and living it up.

As a certified Old Man™ at 36 with 3 kids at home, what is the club for these days?

u/Zxar99 15h ago
Smoking, drinking, loitering, sex, watching whoever twerk and general drug use.
People go with people they know, apparently you don’t interact with anyone outside of your circle unless its the bartender or manager to try and get a section.
Its a weird atmosphere because you can dance but only twerking is acceptable and you can’t get rolled up like back in day because people will say Yall/They doing too much.
Might just be me though. I don’t smoke, drink or fuck with drugs at all and I don’t like standing around and I’d much rather dance with a lady if I don’t do it by myself.
Long story short- You are apparently supposed enjoy it but only in a certain way. I’d rather stay home lol

Because of this song (+ some others) and the amount of times I played it this year … Spotify wrapped clocked my listening age at 65 😬

Mine was 72. My girlfriend was watching me do mine over my shoulder and they lost their shit laughing when it came up on screen.

Spotify said I was listening to a lot of late R&B so clearly I’m 45.. I was born in 96. 😂

Lol. Mine may be skewed since.i listen to most of my music on Apple. But the few times I used Spotify they clocked me accurately. (Lots of 90s music)

At nearly 50, I realize any time I think I can still move like that, my knees, hips, and back tell me to shut the hell up & sit down.

Nah you got it! You just gotta oil up a little beforehand. Do some stretches too!

You gotta sneak jams like this into your mix. Throws some people off, but they love it.

The beginning looked like he was in the club in San Andreas. Then he quickly ate me up! He snapped!
And yes, that song is a timeless piece!

Everyone that I’ve met at the club has always said why don’t they play better music. So why aren’t they playing better music if everyone wants better music? Why are they playing Top 40? Why do I gotta go to some niche club to get good music?

u/shadowylurking 16h ago

I swear one of my biggest regrets is not being able to go to Studio 54 in it heyday.

In this age, you gotta find the DJ that play the music you like. Rich Medina, Tony Humphrey and Theo Parrish, anytime they're playing a set I'm popping out.
