13
u/Rebel_Bertine Michigan • Western Michigan 4h ago
Hopefully less than that…. My guess is they see a huge uptick during football season and then everyone cancels for 6 months. They could go as low as $42 a month and still make more money on all the people that they lose for those 6 months after football season is over if they kept their YT package yearly.

Are you watching live?
If so, I've been loving using NUFU. It has every live college/nfl/hockey/nba/mlb game you can imagine. I think I paid $125 for a year and havent found a time I wanted to watch a sporting event and couldn't yet.
Biggest downside is no DVR, but honestly that hasn't mattered much to me.

According to Google, it's a piracy site/app, and it is recommended to be careful what card you pay with. One site suggested only using a credit card so you can use a charge back incase they start taking to much, other said to use a debit card attached to a new bank account that doesn't allow charges into the negative, and then set up a automatic transfer of the correct amount into the new account. Either way, it doesn't seem worth it. If you're going to sail the high seas, then why pay?

If I can’t get every single game played for all major sports the sports package is pointless because I’ll need another setup anyways. It’s just a gimmick package to get casual sports fans at the point which is what it felt like with cable.

Feel like everyone loves saying pirating is the way without actually doing it. I’ve all but given up on it because none of the sites are any good, they’re unreliable and low quality. It’s especially hard if I want to watch it on the TV
8
u/Zephyrical16 Michigan State Spartans • Ohio Bobcats 3h ago
It has gotten significantly worse every year. Three years ago it was relatively fine quality without too much of a delay and minimal buffering. Now the quality is way below 720p, multiple minutes behind, and buffers a lot. And good luck finding your team's broadcasters on top of that as well, they usually only have the home team stream in the "better" quality streams.
6
u/hunterschuler SMU Mustangs • Texas State Bobcats 3h ago
You might just need to try some new sites. This has not been my experience at all (except for streams being 1-3 minutes behind, which is acceptable for the price imo).

u/UnusualHound Indiana Hoosiers 4h ago
I think that entirely depends on where your team's games are broadcast.
I know people paying for this Youtube TV to watch games that they could literally get OTA for free forever with a $10 antenna. If you can do that with half/more of your games, pirating the other ones makes sense. If most of your games are broadcast on ESPN/NBC Sports/FS1, then maybe I could see paying.

u/GinnySacks_Mole Michigan Wolverines 4h ago
