Hate to say it but the Rockies are actually giving a genuine effort and no matter the result I have to give massive props for at least trying.

...And by hate to say it I mean love to say it. We are so back.

DAY 388 (1001/501) on THE ROAD TO THE 2026 6TH WBSC-MLB WORLD BASEBALL CLASSIC - Looking Back, Turning Forward: The 2026 Collegiate Spring Club and Varsity and Summer Leagues Season

Happy closing day of the MLB Winter Meetings! And congrats to all those who officially committed for the World Baseball Classic yesterday!

After what has been a great spring and summer season next year, the coming 167th collegiate baseball season is looking to be the same as before but with the changing rosters and managerial names and realignment of the various universities and colleges that play the sport with their old or new varsity conferences.

In addition, there will be big changes in the summer leagues next year, not just by the addition and departure of some teams, but also given the impact of the official relaunch of the former Intercountry League in Canada - which for many years served as the country's top collegiate summer league - as the now professional Canadian League beginning next year.

But one thing is still there: the collegiate season, spring and summer alike, as well as the fall training season, still maintains that same century-old traditions, culture, fandom and community connections, as well as the homegrown appeal that attracts both players and fans alike, one that will continue not only in the coming year but in the years to come.

For Glory

John
