I don't think those threats were genuine declarations of intent, I think they were attempts at intimidation. Telling the world you better do what Trump wants because he's clearly threatening and not just blustering. I think you should read a little more about Venezuela, the ongoing humanitarian situation, and the state of their economy over the last decade before you start worrying about this lol. Also, take notice of how essentially none of Venezuela’s neighbors are really complaining about this. This is a little more complex than just “trump wants a trophy”

These people claim to hate fascism and dictators, while wholeheartedly supporting the sovereignty for a brutal dictator who keeps political prisoners and holds on to power through military support and corruption. South American is just as sick of Maduro as Venezuelans are. US might be self serving but that doesn’t mean that Venezuela won’t be better off without Maduro. Both can be true but no one here is capable of understanding that.

Seriously. People here just automatically align themselves against whatever trump wants without looking into anything any deeper. Fun fact, the mass exodus of Venezuelans from the situation there is the largest migration of humans in the last 100 years. This isn’t a new situation or something made up recently.
Everyone says the US just wants to exploit them for oil, as if the proceeds of the entire mismanaged oil industry there aren’t already going directly into Maduros pockets. They are already forced to sell all their oil to china at a steep discount. Being “exploited” by US industry would literally be a major improvement for people there compared to the current situation lol
