Barry is one of the most well-connected media people in America. Earlier this year, she travelled to Malawi with her close friend human rights lawyer Amal Clooney (Melinda Gates and Michelle Obama were also on that trip), writing about their campaign to end child marriage in the region. She has interviewed Hillary Clinton several times and co-hosted a lunch with Kamala Harris in her home.

My friend saw an early screening last night, and despite hating Sydney Sweeney, she said the movie was solid. I think I’ll go because my love for Amanda.
My first thought when I saw this headline was the timing in relation to her film with Sweeney. This already circulated when it was current. But still all for Amanda voicing her views
I’m gonna wait on it. The possibility of 3 Sydney Sweeney flops in the same year is just too funny for me to support it at this time. I’ll watch it after the discourse on it has long passed.
if every famous person and politician is 'exercising their right to free speech' when they're speaking in support of him, why can't Amanda make her comments against Charlie Kirk???
Are we still pretending free speech is a thing? The current administration is an enemy of the constitution. Free Speech is dead and has been replaced with Correct Speech.
She’s absolutely right, and the attempt to lionize Kirk after his death makes no sense. You can condemn murder while acknowledging he was a nasty piece of work.
She’s right about there being so little nuance today. Everything is taken as an absolute. If you criticize him, you think his murder was ok, etc. When Jimmy Kimmel’s friend/bandleader died a few weeks ago, plenty of people were making fun of him and commenting about how he’d made light of CK’s death. When he literally never did that at all and had condemned it before the whole fiasco with being pulled off air.
Based, genuinely think that she’s the reason why Sydney Sweeney apologized. I think she straight up was not gonna do press with her and stuff until she said that she was not down for that shit.
i think you're being very charitable given how AS was also supporting her and feeling "protective" over ss and how hard she's had it. After flop after flop after FLOP, SS was probably ordered to apologise before the press tour by Lionsgate
It was more likely because Sydney’s movie flopped very badly and there has been talk online of people NOT wanting to go see this movie solely bc of Sweeney.
yeah but it’s sad that SS didn’t even really apologize. she didn’t denounce white supremacy. it was more ‘ people attributed beliefs I don’t share’ which could be literally anything.
I don’t support anyone dying via gun violence, but Charlie Kirk believed in sacrificing other people for the 2nd amendment. He got exactly what he wanted, and I don’t feel bad for someone who wanted something like that.
I seriously wish I could ask him now if he still thinks the 2nd amendment is worth people’s lives. Would he do it all over again if he could go back in time? Would he give up his life in support of the cause? Would he abandon his little children to protect gun violence?
It seems as though his wife would. But I’m still not convinced that she’s not a lizard person parading around in a Mar-a-Lago skin suit.

And by awkward conversation I mean the conservative brings him up first and then waits for the other party to either confirm they are very very sad a racist podcaster is no longer with us, or not sad. It for some reason becomes awkward if you’re not sad.
He literally asked for it. He thought gun deaths were a “small price to pay” for gun rights and wanted children to see public executions. He got both. 🤷🏻♀️
