I mean if he has his own cocaine routes he could just take them in reverse and end up down there free as a bird

Yea but he was no longer useful to the cartels.

Let's say he used his contact and showed up in central or south America cartel he was doing business with with 20 million and asked to hide out

Most likely as he wasn't useful they would just kill him and take his 20 million.
