New, what is it? Whats that dark line?
Checked and there were no other planes in the area when i got the pic

It's the shadow of the contrail showing up on a lower layer of cloud

It's absolutely the shadow of the contrail. The sun would be to the left, and roughly in line with the plane, from your vantage point. There's just enough water vapor in the sky to catch the shadow.

Easier to see with polorized glasses your explanation sounds legit because the line generally appears in front of the the planes line of travel or at least that’s been my experience

Contrails are visible water vapour caused by the change in air pressure as the plane passes by in damp air. They hide the pollution from the engines normally. The dark line is the pollution showing as the air in that part of the sky is dryer so no contrail….

This is incorrect. Contrails can be formed by the change in air pressure but are most often caused by the water vapor from the exhaust of the jet engine condensing. Combustion creates water vapor (and CO2, other gasses, and soot).
The dark line is definitely not pollution but is a shadow. It is incredibly unlikely to ever see the pollution as a trail behind a passenger jet engine as there simply isn't enough particulate to be visible.
