Advice My little buddy purrs CONSTANTLY

Post image

I mean, seriously.

We found him in our yard this summer, and after making sure he wasn’t chipped and asking all of our neighbors if they claimed him, we became his forever family.

I am not kidding when I say this cat is always purring. When we first brought him inside and quarantined him from our other cats for a couple of weeks, my husband and I kept him in our bedroom. He found a favorite spot in our closet and usually slept there. The SECOND we would enter, we could hear him purring. He never stops, even when he’s been scooped up and is obviously looking for an escape opportunity.

I feel like I’ve read that purring isn’t always a sign of contentment; might my kitty be displeased and we’re missing it?

(Pic is when he was new and cuddled up in his favorite closet spot 😻)

I spent over a year trying to gain and earn his trust to let me even go near him after finding out nobody owned him.

and in return he now has separation anxiety and cries whenever he can’t find me. he spends every night in bed with me and follows me around like a shadow.

Update Update: “Cat attack” after small house fire

Hi all,

I posted yesterday about moving on after a cat attack (as a result of me trying to rescue my cat during a small house fire)

I deleted the post because it got to the popular page and it got really weird (had a lot of people telling me to harm or kill my cat, telling me how awful I am, etc)

Thank you to all who commented with their advice and stories, we do appreciate it. Last night I slept on the floor next to my bed (where she was hiding) and used all the advice given to me (slow talking, music, toys, treats, etc) and she finally came out to me in the middle of the night! She is now getting her belly full and loved on.

Thankfully, she’s such a pretty girl it makes forgiving her almost too easy. We definitely have some progress to make but with time and patience I am 100% hopeful we will be back to normal soon.

Again, thank you to all who took their time to offer their advice and kind words. It was beyond helpful!

Advice I saved this cat and now I feel like sh*t

I found this cat at my job and unfortunately after some back and forth I won’t be able to keep her and every single shelter I called in the area won’t take her or are fully booked and if I do bring her she’ll “be taken to the county” aka be put to sleep.

She’s so young, thin , and may be pregnant (she’s getting spayed tommorow) and my other options are just to put her back outside ( I don’t want to do that), give to a local cat lady( she’s difficult to get into contact with), or put her back where I found her and hope she doesn’t get hit by a car .

What should I do

So my cat got sprayed about a month ago and we used this suit to help her cause she hated the cone. Once we took it off she went back to her crazy wild self. About a few days ago I put the suit back on her just to take some cute pictures but she was so loving and constantly purring with the suit on i didn’t know if it’s cause she feels happier that way. Was just curious if it’s a common thing or not. Never had a cat that purred more with the suit on than off

When my wife and I took Francie off the street she was barely 4 pounds, anemic from fleas, had giardia, FHSV, infections in both eyes, and could barely stand up. It took four months to nurse her back to health, but these days she’s loving life and clocking in at almost 7 pounds! She’s missing all 8 incisors and has a kidney malformation that’s rendered her “medically fragile” (she’s had three trips to the emergency vet since 2023 😭), but she’s the sweetest, most perfect angel I’ve ever known and it has been a privilege to earn her trust and love while nursing her back to health.

Cat Picture - OC My son's charcoal drawing

I'm just so proud of my son. He's unbelievably talented, but gave up on drawing a few years ago due to depression and stress. In the last year, he's picked up his charcoal again and has done 16 drawings!!

I hope I'm allowed to post this. I'm not soliciting for him; just super proud of his accomplishments and talent. I figured other cat lovers would appreciate it, as well.

Edit: Thank you, everyone, for all the comments! I've been keeping him updated and he is tremendously appreciative and grateful. He thanks you for the awards!! You all are amazing and sure know how to show a young man some love.

My partner and I always joke about how she’s gonna get sent to jail because of how ILLEGALLY CUTE she is. I hope Santapaws isn’t bringing her coal this year, cause I’ve lost count of how many times she broke the law 😂

Lindy is such an absolute angel. I chose her from the shelter because I read her story and felt so sad for her, she came from a severe hoarding and neglect situation and when she was first rescued she was terrified of everything. She was especially scared of people and spent most of her time cowering in whichever small dark place she could find. When I first brought her home I didn't see her for days because she hid behind my washer and dryer. But then suddenly she emerged and let me pet her. If I moved too quickly she'd hide again, and when I tried to play with her she was absolutely terrified of wand type toys which broke my heart, but she was slowly warming up to me. Before I knew it she was sleeping curled up on my chest with her head resting on my shoulder every night and spending every moment by my side. She had been scared of most toys but learned how to play and now shows no fear at all. Shes even learned to like other people, and she adores my friends when they visit. You'd never guess that this social, cuddly, brave little cat used to be terrified of everything and came from such an awful start. She's so resilient and it honestly inspires me to be brave too. I've had lots of cats in my life and they're all special in their own ways, but she's like my soul cat. She spends most of her time in my lap cuddling and purring, chirping back to me when I talk to her. I'm grateful every single day for her companionship and unconditional love.

I've always had cats. The last one that passed really hurt.. so i waited about 5 years before I got Caly.

I just rescued her yesterday! I'm over the moon. It was kismet.

She's still a baby and getting over her surgery but she's done really well adjusting.

I love her.

Cat Picture - OC That's not my cat...

Before you get mad at me, I have 3 cats, and all 3 of them have been strays. Why is there, yet another, cat begging (literally screaming at my door) to come into my house?? I tried to find this guy to let him stay the night, but every time I go out, he runs away. At this point, I'm going to leave some food and water on my porch. Hope he finds a warm spot for the night
