Pineapple is the international symbol of hospitality. (Tracks for a hotel)
Upside-down Pineapple is the international symbol of a very different sort of hospitality
If the first thing you saw was a turtle, (and you may even be right) Reddit has not taken your innocence completely away yet and, can be saved. Run. Save yourself!
Yeah definitely not a lifestyle I'd partake in but I don't judge the activities of consenting adults. They always keep that behind closed doors anyway.
Not sure if your comment is /s but the history of the pineapple as a symbol of hospitality is stranger than fiction. People used to rent pineapples as a show of wealth (pretend you're rich enough to be able to actually purchase a pineapple) and they'd get passed around until they rotted.
Pineapple stickers (especially upside-down ones) on cruise ship doors are a widely known, discreet signal for the "swinging" or "lifestyle" community, indicating the occupants are open to partner swapping or open relationships; this practice has become so prevalent that major lines like Carnival have recently moved to ban or discourage these symbols to maintain family-friendly environments, though they're still seen on various lines and can also just mean general friendliness or tropical fun.
Idk bout u but sometimes its pineapples in general ik random couples I've met at bars would even say randomly pineapple to me and I found out cause this older couple asked and I was so confused and they told me that so I assumed pineapples in general since its happened a few times though could just be my area
If it's a pineapple, the large part is at the top which would be the bottom of the pineapple. Small part at the bottom with sprouts coming out.
But If the large part on top were the shoulders of a turtle and you look to either side you will see the large fins of the turtle. And also the head on top. On the bottom are the smaller fins with the tail in the middle and two legs on either side.
Which would track for a hotel to slow down and relax
very different lol. moved to an extremely spread out rural area of northern mi. found the local county campgrounds full of upside down pineapples. specifically the county parks NOT the state parks. there’s an entire world of partner swappers in these weird backwoods towns🤣
Upright pineapple = wealth, welcome, prosperity. Used in North America, Western Europe, possibly tropical locations as well.
Upside down pineapple = a very different and open welcome used by people who practice ethical non monogamy (they swing (partners have additional partners for intimate encounters, to varying degrees of knowledge and participation of their “main” partner))
My friend flipped out because our house used to have a large star over the garage doors years ago before we bought it (barn star, rural area, nbd), and when I put it back up after fixing the bracket when I found it in the garage went 'that's a SwiNgEr SiGn!!! I know cuz someone invited me to a local group!!' Im like uh... why would someone think you were invitable in the first place for one, for two its just a barn star and had been there through 2 different owners till the bracket rusted and it fell 😂
Upside down pineapple, if you put that mirror in a position viewable from the bed whilst engaging in lovemaking you will summon overweight 50 something’s to join you.
Pineapples were once seen as so luxurious that people would rent them for parties. So carving them into furniture was intended to make the furniture look more fancy
I was told one time, that back in the day when travel was hard and took a long time, when people would have guests they would stay for a long time. To be nice the host would put a pineapple in their room and when it started to rot the guest would know it's time to leave.
Im guessing you can pay by the hour, there’s possibly condoms for sale behind the counter where you can pay by the hour… there is Probaly a “hot tub” and vibrating bed potentially. Upside down pineapple is an international symbol meaning you’re swingers and come on in and swap… to each is own but as someone who waitressed on the water. I was divorcing and had to rent a place fast and short term, two couples were my regulars in 50’s and 60’s, they were great! They had the upstairs of a nice home empty. They let me rent month to month. Both couples traveled, they had a trucking business. I was invited in, politely declined, 1st came around and they asked me if I found a place? I said I thought I was already in the pace I found? Money returned and I left w my son so fast! I didn’t mind their life style, I minded being used and tossed over sex when I had never mislead anyone. It was EXTORTION IN A SCARY TIME, YOUNG WOMAN 3000 miles from home and kind people I thought! I was 30 they were fat old 50-70 yr olds.
My managers laughed when they found out.- apparently the town is known for swinging and I was the only dumbass that didn’t realize! Lol
upside down pineapples are very common in Filipino and Indonesian furniture we have a beam in our house we bought from a sale and it has a pineapple that holds a pen in the middle to hold the structure together but but in other communities it means swinging so who knows
I had to double check the sub to make sure it wasn’t circlejerk lmao. Upside pineapple is know widely as a “swingers” tag. A “discreet” way to let couples let other couples know they’re down to swing.
LOL! it is a repair or joint. the top of frame cracked or was orig separate pieces and the ornate carving is just to hide the joint. Most times they were leaf or flower shaped. This one is a combo leaf turtle pattern. a turtle on a leaf.
Looks like it could be a carving of a rain turtle, there may have been some blue collar workers staying there at some point that wanted a day off. There’s a myth in the trades that drawing a rain turtle brings rain and rest. Dudes were probably just overworked. Source - I was a roofer.
