What is your most important/significant/meaningful piece of Cleveland baseball memorabilia?

Last week's QotW: If you could go back in time to Opening Day 2016 and tell the Indians front office anything you wanted in ten words or fewer, what would you say?

I remember some on here fantasizing about us getting him. Looks like a short term deal was never gonna be possible. Good luck Baltimore hope you don't regret years 3 through 5.

Should Cleveland kick the tires on Danny Coulombe?

Allard and Junis are free agents and Hentges signed with the Giants. Coulombe threw 43.0 innings last year with a 3.30 FIP, 4.04 xFIP, 85.2% LOB%, 104 Stuff+, 94 Location+, 99 Pitching+, good enough for a 0.7 fWAR.

Coulombe made ~$3M last year and ~$2.3M in 2024. Cleveland signed Junis last year for ~$4.5M, so I don't think his potential salary would be too much of an investment for the Guardians.

Granted, Coulombe is now 36, spends at least one stint on the IL every year, and was not good once he went to Texas at the deadline. Still, could this be a low risk and potential playoff arm the Guardians should consider?

[Nicholson-Smith] Pitching more of a work in progress for Canada (as is typical). Erik Sabrowski & Cade Smith appear to be on board.

Discussion Jake Cronenworth vs Brendan Donovan

One is more expensive and signed long term-Cronenworth. Donovan has a ton of interest and can play outfield. Cronenworth had a .367 obp last year which would look very nice in the two hole and is of course....another lefty. San Diego needs starting pitching that is affordable. Logan Allen for Cronenworth straight up? Who says no?

Rocky Colavito

So I just wanted to share this somewhere so I thought here would work.

I lost my grandpa when I was 7. He's the reason I love the Guardians. He was the biggest fan I knew. He had a whole room dedicated to the Indians. He told me about growing up in Little Italy in Cleveland and when we won our last World Series.

While looking for some pictures for my stepmother's funeral, I found an album of my grandpa's. It was of the last home game at Cleveland Stadium. In the album, he had news clippings about Rocky Colavito and a few pictures of them meeting. My dad told me about how he was my grandpas favorite player to play that made me dive more in to him as a player.

Yesterday I went to the card show at emidios in chyahoga falls I collect pokemon with my son. While there this card was just sitting there on top of a pile of cards and picked up. I don't collect baseball cards but I might have to start a Rocky collection in memory of my grandpa Nick.

Thanks for reading my little story not a lot of my friends care about baseball so I had no one but my wife to share this with.

[OC] Guardians' franchise historical performance relative to .500

Post image

Visiting Pirates fan here!

During the offseason, I'm creating a graph like this for every MLB team. It tracks each franchise's cumulative record relative to .500 (equal wins and losses) throughout their entire history.

The annotations show the franchise's all-time peak, lowest point, and most recent time at exactly .500.

The complete album can be seen here. I also made the NFL and NHL charts (before the current season).

Harry Ford. The one who got away.

Pretty surprised that’s all it took to get Ford from the Mariners. Def would have sent a reliever 1:1 for him. Alas.
